Avocado Lime Hummus

This twist on the classic hummus recipe is magnificent, tasty, and super easy to make. I have done this recipe on numerous occasions. Sometimes I will bring it to a dinner party, make it for my dinner parties, or I’ll take it with me to work. Everyone loves it, and it has become favorite of mine. Unlike regular hummus, the avocado with the garbanzo beans becomes creamier and gives it a smoother texture. The spices with the lime juice add a little kick of heat that brings the hummus to life. It is the perfect dip for snacking on crackers, pita bread, or veggies. I think it pairs well with cucumbers, celery, or pita chips. Below, I left the recipe so you can whip yourself up a batch and find what snacks you like to eat with this hummus recipe!

What You’ll Need:

1 can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
1 avocado peeled with the pit removed
1 ½ limes juiced
½ cup cilantro
1 clove of garlic, peeled and chopped
¼ and ½ cup water
2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon hot sauce of your preference
¼  kosher salt

Directions:

Put all the ingredients, reserving the ¼ cup of water, into a blender or food processor
Blend the ingredients until smooth
Gradually add  in the ¼ cup of water to loosen if hummus is too thick
Serve with crackers, pita, vegetables etc., and enjoy!
