Chicken Shawarma

Pictured above is a chicken shawarma.

I have been wanting to expand my taste buds for a while! I started with experimenting with Italian, then started my way across different countries and cultures. After taking a European tour in my kitchen, I have decided to start a journey in the Middle East. A classic recipe that everyone enjoys in this culture of food is Chicken Shawarma. So I tested it out myself, and all I can say is SCORE. By far one of the best chicken dishes I have ever made and it is so simple as well! If you want to try an out of this world chicken recipe, check out below:

2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
Fresh cilantro (optional)

1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon ground coriander
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon ground cardamom
1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
2 teaspoon paprika
2 teaspoon salt
Black pepper
2 tablespoon lemon juice
3 tablespoon olive oil

Combine the marinade ingredients in large bowl
Add the chicken and coat evenly
Marinate for 24 hours or overnight
Mix together ingredients in a small bowl. Cover and put in the fridge until needed. This sauce will last for 3 days in the fridge.
You can cook the chicken on grill or cast iron skillet on medium heat.
Spray the surface with cooking spray. Place chicken on grill or in pan and cook for 6-7 minutes. Flip and cook for 5-6 minutes getting a nice char on both sides.
Remove from grill or pan, cover with foil, and let rest for 5 minutes.
Finely chop the cilantro and sprinkle on top of the chicken. Enjoy!
