Tilapia is a soft, flavorful white-fish that even non-fish-lovers might enjoy. And, it is generally much less expensive than other fish options. Try out this wonderful pan-fried tilapia recipe sometime to see if you or your loved ones might enjoy a great fish dish!
1 1/2LB fresh tilapia fillets
¼ cup flour
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp canola oil
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp chopped parsley leaves (optional)
2 tsp seafood seasoning
1 tsp chopped garlic
1 tsp salt
½ tsp ground pepper
Begin by preheating your oven to 300° F. Next, grab a medium-sized casserole dish or something similar and mix together the flour, seafood seasoning, salt, and pepper. Coat both sides of your tilapia filet in the mixture.
Now, heat your canola oil in a frying pan using medium-high heat. Give your filet a quick shake to remove excess flour and seasoning, and add to the pan. Careful for hot oil! Cook for two or three minutes on each side or until brown.
Go ahead and place your tilapia in the oven to keep warm while you prepare the sauce. Reduce heat on the stove to low and add butter (you do not need to clean the pan). Melt the butter and then add the garlic, lemon juice, and optional parsley. Sauté for approximately two minutes.
Finally, place the filets on your serving dish and pour the sauce. Serve and enjoy!
