Who doesn’t like a good hummus? You can use it as a dip for your vegetable chips, it can be a sandwich spread, or an addition to a really delicious salad. So when we were asked to make a Roasted Garlic Hummus for the blog, we couldn’t say no!
The Roasted Garlic Hummus That’s Hard to Resist
Did you know you can make a hummus from just about anything? Some have made them from edamame while others use cauliflower. When you want to go traditional, choose chickpeas.
These delicious beans are originally cultivated in the Middle East and Mediterranean with lots of culinary influences from all over the world. Along with their yummy taste comes a tremendous health benefit such as promoting bone health, preventing diabetes, maintaining normal blood pressure, and more. As if you need more reason to snack on these delicious treats, right?
What you’ll need:
1 can chickpeas
1 ½ tbs tahini
2 tbs extra virgin olive oil
1 ½ tbs tahini
3 roasted garlic cloves
2 tbs lemon juice
½ tbs salt
1 tsp pepper
3 chopped basil leaves (for garnish)
Add all the ingredients in a food processor except for the olive oil. Once they are all well blended, slowly add the olive oil in the hummus, and puree it until it is smooth. Add the basil garnish at the end and enjoy!
