Tender Beef Carnitas

There’s just something about a good ole carnitas to enjoy during the spring and summer season. Enjoy it with a refreshing drink and eat carnitas at the beach. It’s a delicious treat that is packed with so many flavors from a hint of salty, spicy to the texture of the tender meat. Top that along with delicious condiments like avocados, onions, tomatoes, and lime; You’re in for a treat. So we decided to take on the beef carnitas, but kosher style!

What You’ll Need:

3 lbs Flank Steak

1 ½ seeded jalapeno (chopped)

1 green and red bell pepper (julienned)

1 yellow onion (diced)

Spice Rub:

2 tsp cumin

3 tsp chili powder

½ tsp onion powder

½ tsp cayenne pepper

½ tsp garlic powder

1 tsp ground pepper

2 tsp salt


Blend all the spices together in a small bowl. When it is evenly blended, rub the mixture onto the meat. Place the meat at the base of the slow cooker. Cover your steak with onions, jalapeno, and bell peppers. Cook this on low for about 8 hours. When it is finished, remove the meat from the pot, and let it cool. Shred with a fork. At this point, it should be easy to shred the meat as it will be tender.

Serve with tortilla, cilantro, avocado slices, limes, and your favorite salsa!
